Mamadou Sidibe, Head of the Audit and Statistics Department, said that the country is on track to reach or even exceed the production target for the year, especially because the last quarter traditionally records strong production. It must be noted that the industrial gold production by Mali had totalled 65.2 tonnes in the whole of 2020.

Mali had recently announced fresh rules aimed at combating illegal gold mining activity in the country, which has resulted in significant boost in industrial gold production.
