Smurfit Kappa Collaborates with Signify to Launch New Integrated Packaging System

The new packaging solution has significant antibacterial properties and is secured by a fit-to-size hood with special multi-use locks.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Smurfit Kappa-Europe’s leading corrugated packaging company announced that it has partnered with Signify to design a new integrated packaging system.

According to company press release, the newly designed BioShift UV-C Chamber Case can be used to ship and transport UV-C lights. It is a 100% mono-material paper-based solution that removes all plastics and reduces the number of packaging materials used. The new packaging solution has significant antibacterial properties and is secured by a fit-to-size hood with special multi-use locks.

The lightweight design of the new packaging system reduces assembly labour by almost 50%, thus reducing costs significantly. Moreover, it also offers significant reduction in storage space by almost 30%. This essentially means that additional 16 pallets could be accommodated per truck. In addition it also guarantees 100% safety from damages during transportation.

The innovative, cost-effective and sustainable BioShift UV-C Chamber Case is a part of Smurfit Kappa’s Better Planet Packaging portfolio of products, which offers sustainable alternative solutions to single-use plastics.
