SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Atlanta-headquartered WestRock announced new addition to its executive leadership team. According to company press release, Brandi Colander has been appointed as Chief Sustainability Officer, as part of the efforts to strengthen its commitment to sustainability.

Steve Voorhees, chief executive officer of WestRock noted that the company is pleased to have Colander joining the company on its sustainability journey. Brandi’s extensive experience will help the company in delivering a more sustainable future, he added.

The company will continue to focus on aligning its environmental, social and governance priorities with the products that they produce. WestRock will continue its leadership in operational excellence, sustainably, Colander noted.

Colander is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She earned her master’s degree at Yale University and her Juris Doctor at Vermont Law School. She has vast experience that spans the private, government and nonprofit sectors. Most recently, she was a principal at the Raben Group. She also serves as the chair of the Board of Directors for the District of Columbia’s Green Finance Authority, on the Yale School of the Environment Leadership Council and the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy Advisory Board.
