Topmost Crude Steel Producing Nations-October 2020

The cumulative steel output during the first ten months of 2020 totalled 1.511 million tonnes (Mt).

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The crude steel output by world countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) registered significant surge during the month of October 2020. The monthly production statistics suggests that output by 64 countries has increased by nearly 7% over the previous year.

The world crude steel production totalled 161.890 million tonnes (Mt) in October this year, as compared with the output of 151.248 Mt a year before. China, India and Japan continued to be the world’s top three steel producers. Out of the leading steel producers, China and India recorded higher steel output over the previous year. The Middle East and Other Europe production was up by 16.8% and 16% respectively.

The cumulative steel output during the first ten months of 2020 totalled 1.511 million tonnes (Mt). This compares with the output of 1.542 Mt in Jan-Oct ’19.
