B2Gold Completed Mill Expansion at Fekola Gold Mine
All of the major construction activities in connection with the mill expansion project have been completed.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Canadian miner B2Gold Corporation announced that it has completed the previously announced mill expansion project at its flagship Fekola gold mine in western Mali. The expansion was completed almost a month ahead of scheduled completion time, said the company press release. The expansion will boost the capabilities to help it process 7.5 million tonnes of ore per year.

All of the major construction activities in connection with the mill expansion project have been completed. Also, it has successfully carried out the process performance test to compare with design expectations. The pending minor construction works are expected to be completed by the middle of this month.
Speaking at the Northern Miner’s Global Mining Symposium, Clive Johnson, Chief Executive and Director, B2Gold noted that the company is not too worried about the political unrest in the country. The mine has been able to sustain normal operations, without losing operational days due to Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, the company is confident of achieving its earlier announced production guidance of 1 Moz-1.055 Moz of gold for the current year.
The Fekola mine has been one of the major drivers of B2Gold’s revenues in Q2, recording a production of 147,424 ounces of gold.
