SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly price trends of various scrap metal categories across worldwide markets for the past week (9th to 15th August, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
Copper Scrap recorded weekly surge in prices by 3.74%
#1 Copper Bare Bright prices witnessed notable increase over the prior week, rising by 3.64%. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing too were significantly up by 3.73%, from the price of $3.75 per Lb at the start of the week to end the week at $3.89 per Lb. Similarly, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices rose substantially by 3.84%, increasing from $3.65 per Lb to $3.79 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright recorded weekly surge in prices by 3.64%, rising from $3.85 per Lb to $3.99 per Lb on ScrapMonster Index. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, saw their prices increase from levels of $3.75 per Lb to $3.89 per Lb over the week. The prices of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too were up by 3.84% to end the week at $3.79 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright witnessed notable increase by 3.66% over the prior week. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing too were up by 3.75%, from the price of $3.73 per Lb at the start of the week to end the week at $3.89 per Lb. Another copper scrap category to witness week-on-week surge in prices was #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, the prices of which rose from $3.63 per Lb to $3.77 per Lb over the week.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright recorded weekly increase in prices by 3.56%, reporting rise from $3.93 per Lb to $4.07 per Lb on ScrapMonster Index. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, saw their prices surge from levels of $3.83 per Lb to $3.97 over the week. The prices of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too were up significantly by 3.75% to end the week at $3.87 per Lb, upon comparison with the opening price of $3.73 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright posted weekly surge by 1.91%. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing too were up by 2.03%, recording an increase from the price of CNY 66,550 per MT at the start of the week to CNY 67,900 per MT towards the end of the week. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing recorded weekly increase, the prices of which soared from CNY 65,550 per MT to CNY 66,900 per MT over the week.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright witnessed no change from the prior week’s price of $6,000 per Tonne during the week. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing prices too were flat on Index, maintaining the previous week’s price of $5,200 per Tonne. Also, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices held steady on Index.
Brass Scrap prices witnessed surge by 4.43% over the previous week.
Red Brass prices witnessed increase over the previous week, soaring from $2.11 per Lb to $2.20 per Lb. Yellow Brass too recorded notable increase in prices by 4.59%. The prices of the commodity recorded increase from $1.96 per Lb to $2.05 per Lb.
The prices of Red Brass edged higher by 4.27%, from the previous week price of $2.11 per Lb to $2.20 per Lb as on 15th August, 2024. Also, Yellow Brass prices recorded surge by 4.59% over the previous week.
Red Brass prices recorded notable increase week-on-week, rising from $2.13 per Lb to end the week at $2.22 per Lb. Similarly, Yellow Brass prices rose by 4.55% during the week.
The prices of Red Brass recorded substantial increase by 4.19% over the previous week. Yellow Brass too followed suit, rising by 4.48%, from $2.01 per Lb at the start of the week to close the week at $2.10 per Lb.
Both Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices witnessed marginal increase over the week. The prices of Red Brass increased from CNY 37,600 per MT to CNY 37,800 per MT. Also, Yellow Brass saw its prices rise by 0.57% from CNY 34,950 per MT to CNY 35,150 per MT.
Aluminum Scrap prices posted modest increase by 2.80% during the prior week.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices recorded modest increase over the previous week, rising by 2.97%. 6063 Extrusions prices inched higher, increasing from $0.82 per Lb to $0.84 per Lb. Old Cast prices too were up by 2.90% when compared with the prior week. UBC prices recorded weekly jump by 2.86% on Index over the prior week.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices witnessed weekly surge in prices by 2.97%, increasing from $1.01 per Lb to $1.04 per Lb. 6063 Extrusions, saw their prices rise from levels of $0.82 per Lb to $0.84 per Lb over the week. The prices of Old Cast too were up by 2.90% on Index. UBC prices too reported increase by 2.86% on ScrapMonster Index during the week.
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire witnessed surge by 2.97% over the prior week. The prices of the commodity increased from $1.01 per Lb to $1.04 per Lb during the past one-week period. Meantime, 6063 Extrusions, Old Cast and UBC prices too recorded increase during the week. The prices of 6063 Extrusions and Old Cast witnessed surge by 2.50% and 2.99% respectively, whereas UBC prices edged higher by 2.90% on Index.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices recorded modest increase over the previous week, rising by 2.97%. 6063 Extrusions prices were up by 2.44% on ScrapMonster Index, from the previous week’s price of $0.82 per Lb. Old Cast prices edged higher by 2.86% on Index. UBC prices too witnessed significant increase by 4.29% over the prior week.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices edged higher marginally by 0.28% to end the week at $17,950 per MT. 6063 Extrusions witnessed slight increase by 0.3% in prices when compared with the previous week. The prices of Old Cast too were up by $0.3% on Index. Meantime, UBC prices witnessed no change, in comparison with the previous week price of CNY 12,000 per MT.
The prices of Old Cast held steady at $1,050 per Tonne during the week. UBC prices too were flat on Index, maintaining the previous week’s price of $1,250 per Tonne on ScrapMonster Index.
The prices of Stainless Steel scrap reported no change week-on-week.
A study on the price patterns of 304 SS Solid suggests that the prices of the commodity recorded no change over the prior week. The prices held steady at $0.61 per Lb during the week.
