SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly price trends of various scrap metal categories across worldwide markets for the past week (5th to 8th August, 2024) on the Scrap Monster Price Index are provided below:
Copper Scrap recorded weekly decline in prices by 0.53%
#1 Copper Bare Bright prices witnessed modest decline over the prior week, dropping by 0.52%. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing too were down by 0.53%, from the price of $3.75 per Lb at the start of the week to end the week at $3.73 per Lb. Similarly, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices dipped by 0.55%, falling from $3.65 per Lb to $3.63 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright recorded weekly decline in prices by 0.52%, falling from $3.85 per Lb to $3.83 per Lb on ScrapMonster Index. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, saw their prices dip from levels of $3.75 per Lb to $3.73 per Lb over the week. The prices of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too were down by 0.55% to end the week at $3.63 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright witnessed marginal decline by 0.52% over the prior week. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing too were down by 0.54%, from the price of $3.73 per Lb at the start of the week to end the week at $3.71 per Lb. Another copper scrap category to witness week-on-week dip in prices was #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, the prices of which fell from $3.63 per Lb to $3.61 per Lb over the week.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright recorded weekly decline in prices by 0.51%, witnessing fall from $3.93 per Lb to $3.91 per Lb on ScrapMonster Index. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, saw their prices dip from levels of $3.83 per Lb to $3.81 over the week. The prices of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing too were down by 0.54% to end the week at $3.71 per Lb, upon comparison with the opening price of $3.73 per Lb.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright posted weekly decline by 2.18%. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing too were down by 2.31%, declining from the price of CNY 67,100 per MT at the start of the week to CNY 65,550 per MT towards the end of the week. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing recorded weekly dip, the prices of which decreased from CNY 66,100 per MT to CNY 64,450 per MT over the week.
The prices of #1 Copper Bare Bright witnessed no change from the prior week’s price of $6,000 per Tonne during the week. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing prices too were flat on Index, maintaining the previous week’s price of $5,200 per Tonne. Also, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices held steady on Index.
Brass Scrap prices witnessed decline by 1.46% over the previous week.
Red Brass prices witnessed decline over the previous week, falling from $2.14 per Lb to $2.11 per Lb. Yellow Brass too recorded marginal fall in prices by 1.51%. The prices of the commodity recorded decline from $1.99 per Lb to $1.96 per Lb.
The prices of Red Brass inched lower by 1.4%, from the previous week price of $2.14 per Lb to $2.11 per Lb as on 8th August, 2024. Also, Yellow Brass prices recorded decline by 1.51% over the previous week.
Red Brass prices were unchanged week-on-week, maintaining the price of $1,89 per Lb recorded during the prior week. No change in prices were witnessed in Yellow Brass too.
The prices of Red Brass recorded no change from the previous week price of $2.15 per Lb. Also, Yellow Brass prices held steady on Index over the previous week.
Both Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices witnessed marginal decline over the week. The prices of Red Brass dropped from CNY 37,650 per MT to CNY 37,450 per MT. Also, Yellow Brass saw its prices drop by 0.57% from CNY 35,000 per MT to CNY 34,800 per MT.
Aluminum Scrap prices posted modest dip by 0.25% during the prior week.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices recorded modest decline over the previous week, falling by 1.01%. 6063 Extrusions prices were flat on Index, unchanged at $0.81 per Lb from the previous week price. Old Cast prices held steady on Index. UBC prices too witnessed no variation over the prior week.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices witnessed weekly decline in prices by 1.01%, falling from $0.99 per Lb to $1.00 per Lb. 6063 Extrusions, saw their prices unchanged from levels of $0.81 per Lb over the week. The prices of Old Cast too were flat at $0.68 per Lb. UBC prices too reported no change on ScrapMonster Index during the week.
The prices of E.C. Aluminum Wire witnessed decline by 1.01% over the prior week. The prices of the commodity declined from $0.99 per Lb to $1.00 per Lb during the past one-week period. Meantime, 6063 Extrusions, Old Cast and UBC prices held steady during the week.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices recorded marginal dip over the previous week, falling by 1.01%. 6063 Extrusions prices were flat on ScrapMonster Index, unchanged at $0.81 per Lb from the previous week price. Old Cast prices held steady on Index. UBC prices too witnessed no variation over the prior week.
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices held steady to end the week at $17,700 per MT. 6063 Extrusions witnessed no variation in prices when compared with the previous week. The prices of Old Cast too remained flat on Index. Meantime, UBC prices witnessed no change, in comparison with the previous week price of CNY 11,900 per MT.
The prices of Old Cast held steady at $1,050 per Tonne during the week. UBC prices too were flat on Index, maintaining the previous week’s price of $1,250 per Tonne on ScrapMonster Index.
The prices of Stainless Steel scrap reported no change week-on-week.
A study on the price patterns of 304 SS Solid suggests that the prices of the commodity recorded no change over the prior week. The prices held steady at $0.61 per Lb during the week.
