Total Reclaim was created in 1991 to help industry and government agencies legally recycle refrigerators and HVAC equipment in accordance with the requirements of the 1990 Amendments to the Clean Air Act. In 1995, Total Reclaim became the first reclaimer of refrigerants in the Pacific Northwest. In 1997, we created our sister company EcoLights Northwest to recycle mercury bearing lamps and in 1999 we began recycling computers, monitors, and other electronics. Since then, Total Reclaim has grown to become the leading recycler of computers and electronics in the Pacific Northwest and developed a reputation as one of the most innovative managers of hard-to-handle materials in the nation.
Our services are designed to help our customers comply with laws regarding the handling of hazardous materials, help them reduce their long-term legal liabilities, minimize the disposal of hazardous waste and help protect the environment that we all share. We continue to develop new programs and add services to help protect our environment through the proper management of hard-to-handle materials. Finally, Total Reclaim’s company-owned truck fleet enables us to offer prompt service and comprehensive logistics, recycling and certified destruction services for any volume of electronics and other materials.
Total Reclaim, Alaska branch has developed a site to assist rural Alaskan communities with managing their solid waste and recyclables. The site http://www.backhaul-triak.com/ was launched to provide a resource and information outlet for individuals working in remote areas. Our ultimate goal is to help communities develop and sustain successful backhaul programs throughout Alaska.
Our commitment to environmental responsibility is at the core of everything Total Reclaim does—in our company mission, every service we offer, how we train our employees, and in every facet of our operations. We not only meet legal requirements in our efforts to protect the environment, we surpass them in every possible way. When it comes to the health and safety of our employees is concerned, no detail is left to chance. All of our facilities are ISO 14001 registered, and our electronics recycling programs have been certified by outside experts under the most rigorous certification program: the eStewards standard. Finally, we have committed substantial resources to constructing and operating the most state-of-the-art electronics recycling facility to be found anywhere. It’s all part of being a truly global citizen, a friend of the earth.
If requested by customers, Total Reclaim will provide, or allow review of applicable records of electronic material going for recycling, final disposal, or reuse.
