We are the only Arizona-based nonprofit charitable organization recycling used technology responsibly. Our work helps local students and charities. Your donation makes a difference!Be a part of helping us help our community! Your contribution to AZStRUT provides Arizona schools and nonprofits with working computers. We secure hard drives with a drive wipe process on all donated computers. We refurbish all that we can and turn the rest of the technology into recycled electronics to help us further our educational mission.
We're AZStRUT, and we put real-world technology training to work for Arizona's students and educators. Our model program teaches students valuable technology skills; provides quality refurbished computers to schools and non-profits around the state; and benefits the environment by diverting old equipment from our landfills. It's a classic win-win-win situation which benefits everyone involved. With your help, together we all come out ahead!AZStRUT recycles responsibly and all of our proceeds benefit our charitable cause. When you donate your old electronics to us, you can be sure it will become part of our mission!
Formed in 1997 by founding sponsors Intel & Motorola, AZStRUT is a partnership between local schools and businesses, where students learn new skills by refurbishing used computer equipment. The equipment is then donated to schools and other qualified non-profit organizations throughout Arizona. Over 100 companies such as Intel, Avnet and APS currently donate hardware through the program.
AZStRUT teachers train over 500 students each year at our 15 refurbishing schools across Arizona. The students are given the opportunity to work on computers and get the kind of valuable hands-on experience that companies are looking for, and the completed systems are donated to non-profit organizations such as local schools and charities.Last year alone over 190 schools and non-profit organizations received over 3000 refurbished computers through AZStRUT, the estimated value of these donations exceeds $400,000. Qualified schools or non-profits who would like to request a donation can complete our Computer Request Form for consideration.
AZStRUT is a 501c3 (non-profit) organization and all donations, financial or equipment, will receive a donation form.
CRT computer monitors (CRT= Cathode Ray Tube), CRT televisions and rear projection televisions are about the only items we DO NOT ACCEPT!!! The cost of recycling these no-longer useful TVs actually pulls money away from our education mission - they are that expensive to recycle responsibly (and we would not do it any other way)! There are other options for these items. Local municipalities do accept them as a part of their recycling efforts. Cities pay to have them recycled, they are not put in the landfills.
Companies and the public can drop-off computers, hard drives, monitors, printers and other computer equipment at the StRUT collection centers. We accept all computer electronics, also personal electronics such as stereo equipment, DVD, VCR players, etc.
