The 98% of the recovered material by the VIA Company are sold to more than twenty major Quebec manufacturers, the equivalent of 2,500 trailers per year.
Metals
Metals account for 4% of recovered materials through curbside and can be recycled endlessly. There ferrous and non-ferrous (steel and aluminum). The so separated materials are pressed into small bales and returned to their original industry.
A good way to support recycling and improving equipment is drop your empty cans recorded in your recycling bin. In addition to support integration and environmental activities related to the management of VIA recyclable materials, processing of recycled metal requires 95% less energy. A significant gesture and greatly reduces the extraction requirements of raw materials and contamination, to the benefit of future generations.

Some of our partners are working actively to identify new opportunities for all of these plastics - and in parallel to the reduction of non-recyclable petroleum products.
Paper
Paper and cardboard represent 45% and 33% of recovered materials through curbside! A simple effective sorting paper in the office or at home has a very significant impact and is a social action more meaningful to everyone!
Indeed, recycling for example having been adequate to separate the white paper newsprint will allow each of the two materials to preserve their maximum value on the resale market, and thus promote a return to direct benefits to the community and 'environment.
