Simba Recycling

Simba Recycling is a service company targeting the growing challenge of e-waste Recycling. Its Mission is collecting, evaluating, processing and refurbishing: 1) electronic and IT equipment for resale and/or downstream processing, 2) Plastic and Metals for downstream processing, with companies that are responsible about their recycling and environmental, health and safety concerns. Simba Recycling believes the functions of environmental, quality, health and safety management are an integral part of its management system.

Simba Recycling Policy is committed to the continual improvement in its Integrated management system (R2/EH&S), and following Environmental, Health and Safety principles:

• Comply with all applicable legal requirements and other requirements to which Simba Recycling subscribes that relate to its R2/EH&S.
• Take sufficient care to ensure that activities cause no adverse environmental Impact and are safe for employees and others who visit its workplace such as Contractors, Suppliers and consultants.
• Work with qualified suppliers to establish the best standards, including the diligent management of customer's data security.
• Prevent pollution, Injury and ill health.
• Ensure Responsibility for all hazardous e-Waste both onsite and throughout the recycling chain.
• Manage used and end-of-life electronic equipment based on a "reuse, refurbish, recover, dispose " hierarchy, including both on site and throughout the Recycling Chain.

Simba Recycling Annual Objectives (2016) within the framework of this policy are:

• Increase the intake of recyclable electronics material annually by 10%, thereby reducing the amount of focus material that ends up in landfills.
• Maintain 100% successful data wipes on all data devices.
• Recycle 100% of in-house Batteries and Ink Cartridges.
• Maintain ‘zero work days lost’ due to work related injuries and/or illnesses for all employees.

Simba Recycling management will annually review the performance of the EHSMS, objectives, and policy.

This policy is orderly communicated to employees and other interested parties and reviewed by the management team for its continued suitability.

Simba Recycling would like to present a customized sustainability program specific for your electronic waste stream.

As a R2:2013 certified company, Simba Recycling is at the core of preventing e-waste contamination, by refurbishing the items or recycling them. By adhering to the R2- standards, we assure our clients that all electronic equipment are managed in an environmentally responsible manner, protective of the health and safety of workers and the public; and, that all proprietary data and information will be securely destroyed. Non-operational units are further checked for workable parts to be used as replacement parts. All non-workable parts are processed and segregated into prime or elemental categories for the end-of-life recycling phase.

As an ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified company, all the processes involved are performed with due diligence and regard for the environment and the safety of our employees. Our goal will be to minimize and/or totally avoid sending electronic waste products to the landfill.

Our services

• There will be no transportation cost charged for the regular pickup of all recyclable electronic waste materials, provided that the minimum weight is reached.
• We can accept a minimum of 3,000-lbs of electronic material for collection. We can also collect other recyclables such as industrial plastics, clear industrial glass, metals, wires and cardboard to reach this minimum weight request.
• All material must be carefully loaded on pallets or Gaylord boxes for safe transport of the materials to our facility.
• All material will be assessed, sorted, audited and managed at our facility.
• A monthly inventory log of all receivables is maintained and a Certificate of Recycling / Destruction is provided.
