Steve is the fourth generation of the Shrago family to own and operate the business. His great grand father started as a pan collector in a horse and wagon around 1895.As the years went by, the company moved down the family chain to Steve in 1984 after the death of his father Don Shrago. He has owned and operated Shrago’s from then to the present. Steve has built his company into one of the major scrap processors in SE Iowa. With the addition of Chris Milburn in 1997 as General Manager, this has given Steve a chance to get out and build the business. Picking up more industrial accounts and more peddler trade was the main objective. It was a very successful program.
M. Shrago & Son, Inc. recycles a vast range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Our company also offers industrial scrap handling. We can set any number of containers or trailers at your facility to cut down on your cost of handling your scrap. Steve realizes that your money is made making parts and manufacturing equipment and not by wasting your employees time messing with scrap. Even if M. Shrago doesn’t win the bid on your scrap, Steve is available to consult with your company to insure that you receive the best price for your scrap material.
