Salisbury Scrap Metal, is part of EMR Smith Industries, LLC, with origins dating back to 1898, which operates one of the oldest and largest scrap processors in the Mid-Atlantic region. Through our state-of-the-art separation systems, we buy, process, and sell ferrous and non-ferrous metals by turning raw scrap into a clean and mill-ready product.
We strive to be industry leaders by keeping our facilities clean, safe, and as responsive as possible to our customers’ needs. In the world of Scrap Metal- we buy just about any kind of scrap out there. But there are some things we need special documentation for, as well as things we cannot buy. Read on to find out more.
As one of the Eastern Shore’s Best Scrap Metal Recycling Yard- we buy all forms of scrap steel as well as all forms of Non-Ferrous materials as well.While we buy just about everything, there are some exceptions, so please read on to see what we can buy, what we cannot, and also the items that require special documentation, or scrap that can only be purchased from government agencies or companies.

We will additionally not buy any item, of which the majority consists of plastic, wood, or any other material other than metal, or non ferrous. Examples would be Televisions, Mattresses and boxsprings, boats, etc
There are some materials that in order to buy, we must have certain documentation to comply with applicable laws or policies:
1. Cars- Must have title, registration, gas must be drained completely and hole put in bottom of tank, battery removed and all fluids and freon removed.
2. Any material that would typically come from a Municipal, Commerical, or Government Agency or Company must have proper documentation, and can only be processed if brought by the proper agency or company.
2A. Items can include manhole covers, hydrants, cemetery ornamnets etc, man hole rings, scaffolding, guard railing, light poles and fixtures, Railroad Materials, Cement Forms, Traffic Signals, Road or Traffic Signs, Beer Kegs, Bleachers, Benches, Mailboxes, Tree grates , storm drain grates, etc.
