RRR Recycling has been providing the people of Hawaii an efficient means of recycling HI-5 beverage containers island-wide at our Certified Redemption Centers since the commencement of the Bottle Bill in 2005. RRR has also been the processor of the C&C of Honolulu's single stream blue bin curbside recyclable commodities since November 2007.
In addition, RRR collects and processes commodity from private waste haulers, commercial customers, schools and government agencies. The process consists of segregating commodity, baling and shipping to end markets to be recycled. RRR's goal is to reduce the use of natural resources, optimize recycling and reusing commodity for new products.
The Henriques' Family has lived in Hawaii for generations and have been business owners for over 35 years with a reputation for providing honest and dependable service. In 2005 with the passage of the Bottle Redemption Bill, the operations expanded to include RRR Recycling Services Hawaii, and provide additional redemption avenues for Hawaii’s residents.
RRR owner Dominic Henriques, lived in Oregon, while obtaining his B.S. Degree in Environmental Science and had first hand experience with bottle redemption and mandatory recycling. He believed the bottle bill and recycling would be an important component in saving our natural resources through recycling. RRR Recycling is headquartered on 2 acres in Campbell Industrial Park at 91-165 Kalaeloa Blvd.
Our process consists of collecting, segregating and baling commodity to be shipped to endusers worldwide for recycling into new products. Materials collected include beverage containers (aluminum, plastic, bi-metal & glass), commercial cardboard and newspaper. We work with businesses to develop recycling programs to reduce disposal fees. Since 2007 RRR Recycling has been the processor of the City & County of Honolulu's curbside "blue bin" commodity collection, helping the City recycle over 18,000 tons annually.
RRR's continual effort to increase efficiency included the installation of Hawaii's first semi-automated sortline. The sortline processes material in a timely manner with quality end products. As a result, RRR is capable of increasing it's recycling capacity for commercial customers with optimal results.
Henriques' Family businesses include RRR Recycling Services & Fresh Catch Restaurants.
RRR owner Dominic Henriques, lived in Oregon, while obtaining his B.S. Degree in Environmental Science and had first hand experience with bottle redemption and mandatory recycling. In response to the C&C of Honolulu's bid request for a commodity processor to process Oahu's proposed curbside recyclables, Dominic, with a strong belief in recycling, was determined to offer a competitive rate to allow this program to commence on Oahu. RRR Recycling has been the processor of Honolulu's "blue bin" curbside commodity since 2007.
RRR Recycling has installed Hawaii's first semi-automated sortline to efficiently process commodity from the City Curbside Collection, Commercial and Industrial Customers and RRR Recycling's HI-5 Redemption Centers islandwide. Honolulu City trucks deliver recycled material collected from Oahu residents "blue bins". City & County of Honolulu Single Stream Recycling refers to a system in which all paper fibers, plastics, metals and other containers are mixed in a collection truck, instead of being sorted into separate commodities (newspaper, paperboard, corrugated fiberboard, plastic, glass, etc.) by the resident.
In single stream, both the collection and processing systems are designed to handle this fully commingled mixture of recyclables, with materials being separated for reuse at RRR Recycling's materials recovery facility.
Recycling saves our natural resources. Make recycling fun for your family by creating unique items. RRR Recycling employees think of crafty ways to use bottles, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, boxes and more.
