The Rooney Road Recycling Center is made available to Jefferson County residents (and Arvada residents in Adams County) by your local government to use all year long by simply making an appointment. Gather your unwanted household chemicals and call 303-316-6262. The Center is open 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. A small copay is required for household chemical disposal. We recycle close to 90% of the chemicals collected keeping them out of our natural environment.
The Rooney Road Recycling Center provides Household Hazardous Material collection for Jefferson County residents (and Arvada residents in Adams County), to take chemicals that may pose a serious health threat if not properly handled, stored, and disposed.
The Center now also accepts electronic materials to keep heavy metals out of the landfill. Computer parts and many other electronic components are hazardous waste.
The Rooney Road Recycling Center offers door to door pick up service for the elderly, disabled, or those who are otherwise unable to drop their household hazardous waste at the facility. The $30 co-pay allows residents the same quantity limitations as a facility drop off. Door to door pick ups are conducted when enough appointments are made to make a run through the county. Typically pick up runs happen once every month.
