Peninsula Emory-photo-to-crop knows our neighbors and our neighbors know us. We’ve been serving Delmarva communities for over 75 years, getting to know the people, and cultivating a solid reputation built on service, reliability, and trust. Founded in 1935 by James Emory Willey, Peninsula has been handed down from generation to generation and is headed today by John Willey II.
Things were quite a bit different when we started in 1935. We had one truck, which held 650 gallons of oil, and one storage tank holding 25,000 gallons. PICTUREJohns-sr-jr-2In the early days of the business, customers would call to request their 50 gallon “coal oil” delivery whenever their supply got low. Today our trucks have a 3,000 gallon capacity, and our storage facility holds over three quarters of a million gallons! And, with automatic delivery, customers no longer have to call.Old-delivery-truckA lot has changed over the years. We offer more products, more services, and more conveniences than ever before. With Peninsula’s basic trash and recycling collection services, what we’re really providing our customers is peace of mind. When you sign up for waste collection services with our team, you can feel confident that you will receive the following benefits:
Some of the most common questions we hear from people who sign up for our trash and recycling services are, “Can I recycle this?” and “Is this recyclable?” There are certainly more items that can (or cannot) be recycled than those mentioned on the lists below, but please check the lists thoroughly before tossing items into your recycling bin.
Automated curbside collection is clean, quiet, and efficient. We use a trash truck with an extendable arm to easily pick up your garbage can, empty it, and set it down carefully, greatly reducing the impact on your environment and decreasing the amount of time we spend in your neighborhood. For automated trash pickup, placement of your garbage can is crucial: make sure it faces the street, the lid is closed, and there are at least 10 feet of clearance from things like vehicles, mailboxes, etc.For semi-automated trash pickup, our waste pickup specialists will ensure your garbage is removed carefully with no spills or messed. This hands-on approach to garbage collection is perfect for neighborhoods with cars parked on the street or other blockages in the way. For semi-automated trash pickup, all you’ll need to do is put your trash can on the curb—we’ll handle the rest!
We’ve all had weeks where we have a little (or a lot!) more trash than normal. If this happens, don’t worry about it—just call Peninsula! We’ll mark you down for extra pickup and take your garbage away earlier than normal, so you don’t have to worry about what to do with all of your extra garbage.
