Jesse Park, Ralph's father, started the business in 1960 by going door to door asking people if they would like to have their garbage removed.By 1982 the business had grown to the point that Jesse could no longer, properly and efficiently, maintain the business and a full time job. At this time Ralph and Josie purchased the business, which consisted of 420 customers, 2 trucks and a garage.
In 2008 Parks began curb-side recycling service to meet the demand of customers who wanted an easy way to recycle and protect the environment. Today, the company recycles cardboard, glass, aluminum, phone books, newspapers, aerosol cans and other materials. Commercial customers are a large part of the recycling program where large volumes of materials, such as paper boxes, cardboard, plastic and glass, are collected and recycled.In May of 2009 Park's Garbage Service, Inc. began weekly residential service in Franklin County. Services provided in Franklin County include residential weekly garbage collection, bi-weekly recycling collection, and containers for commercial use. Residential service includes a 96 gallon container for garbage and a 32 gallon container for recycling.In 2010, Park's Garbage Service celebrated 50 years in business. We now provide service to over 18,000 residential and commercial customers with a fleet of 22 trucks and 45 full-time employeesThe business continues to grow by providing quality and efficient service to all of our customers.
This is a facility which you can bring trash to for disposal. We accept all types of household, construction and demolition waste.You simply come to our location, pull on to the scales so that our weight master can record your heavy weight.You will then go in to the office and tell the weight master what type of waste you are disposing of and the county it is from.You will be instructed to drive to the large building approximately 25 yards from the scales. Our staff will assist with the unloading of your items.Once unloaded, you will drive back on to the scales for your light weight to be recorded. Go back into the office and the weight master will tell you how much you owe. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted for payment.
Park's Garbage Services continued green initiative is expanding with the FREE collection of waste oils. Park's Garbage Service, located on Route 522 South of Mount Union, will be the ONLY location to accept the waste oils listed below on Tuesdays and Fridays from the hours of 9 AM to 3 PM.Person's wishing to dispose of waste oil should report to the Park's Garbage Service office and await instructions.
Single Stream recycling means that all plastic, glass, and metal containers, paper material, and cardboard can be put in the same recycling bin for collection. All sizes of cardboard can be collected IF cardboard is flattened.
