Nott Recycling is a family owned and operated Richmond scrap metal recycling center. We pay cash for scrap so that we can recycle these materials for rebuilding purposes. We buy any commercial and residential scrap metal recyclables in order to process, clean, sort, and add the items to the inventory on our Buy page. We then process it with our equipment and then we ship to US smelters, export to China, Korea, India and many other partners throughout the world. We pick up or you can drop off your materials, by the truck load or dumpster load We then provide you with accurate and comprehensive data as to what we processed. We will also divide this up into types of materials, which gives you specifics about how much steel, aluminum, copper, and all other recoverable recyclable metals. that we pick up or you delivered and we processed.

In 1887, Frank H. Nott was founded in Richmond, VA. Growing from a single person to a 3 shift operation. Originally located on Brook Road in Richmond, VA, the company continue to grow while serving the general public, many commercial and industrial accounts to handle all of their scrap metal needs and preventing the landfilling of many materials.

Over the years the company developed and used many processes to improve recovery of materials, be more environmentally friendly and providing a great service to its customers. Over the years the company continued to grow and provide products for a variety of needs such when the company drove to collect extra scrap metals to help feed the manufacturing effort throughout WWI and WWII, the transition from the wartime economies to convert materials for civilian uses. All the while retaining as part of its core values a spirit of giving and support local charities.

After 3 generations of Nott’s running the company, in 1991 the original Frank H Nott company was sold to an outside corporation. Most of the family and staff remained with company for several years to help in the transition to the new management team.

In 1999 David Nott established Nott Recycling, Inc at its current location, 5317 Old Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, starting as a small retail location and once again growing.

Retail

Just come on by with your items. We will weight it and pay you out on the spot in most cases. When you arrive on site, just cross the big truck scale and wait before going on, we may take a big scale weight or pull you forward and start the sorting process so you can best the most money for your items.

Containers

Do you have a more regular flow and volume of scrap metal recyclables? No problem! We’ve got the right container to drop off that will fit your scrap metal recycling and the space you have on site. From drums to bins and roll-offs, we have the right container for your scrap metal needs.

Once we’ve set you up with the right container, we’ll help schedule either regular or on-call pick-ups of your scrap metal for recycling. We will bring you a fresh empty container to keep your work going seamlessly.
