Muirhead Salvage was opened by John Muirhead in late 1979 and joined by his wife and business partner, Shirley in the early eighties around the same time the yard moved to its current location on North 11th.  Together they have built the business up to include several pieces of heavy equipment such as:  a smasher, equipment handler, semi truck and several trailers as well as a roll back and front end loaders.  

Muirhead Salvage buys brass, copper, aluminum, most non-ferrous metals and junk vehicles in the yard where they have scales to weigh the scrap metal for accurate pricing.  Muirhead Salvage works with the general public as well as local Law Enforcement,  and businesses to keep our fair city cleared of unsightly junk.  Muirhead will accept scrap in the yard or travel to your farm or industrial area to do on site bulk scrap metal clean up.  Muirhead Salvage allows drop off of miscellaneous appliances and miscellaneous scrap metal 7 days a week during daylight hours.
