While Todd Shumaker and his brother Mike were busy taking care of the recycling needs of their clients at Midwest Fiber Recycling, they discovered many were inquiring about shredding or document destruction for security purposes. With these requests and the then-pending laws regarding information security, Confidential On-Site Paper Shredding (C.O.P.S.) was born in 2003.
Beginning with one truck in 2003, C.O.P.S. has grown into five mobile shredding trucks that shred up to 24,000 pounds per hour and are equipped with enclosed automatic bin tippers in order to eliminate any contact with documents before they are destroyed. Document Destruction 2The process is closely monitored by trained security professionals and customers may witness the entire process at their place of business.
