Metals Recycling Services, LLC (MRS) is a wholly owned venture of Nucor Corporation and operates as part of the Nucor subsidiary, Cincinnati-based, The David J. Joseph Company (DJJ), one of USA’s largest scrap metal companies.
 DJJ’s rich history began in 1885. We possess a wealth of experience and an entrepreneurial spirit that is vital to success in the scrap recycling industry.DJJ is also part of Nucor Corporation’s family of companies.Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Nucor is the leading purchaser of ferrous scrap and the largest recycler in North America.MRS was formed in 1999. Nucor Corporation acquired the assets of Metal Recycling Services in April, 2008. Two additional recycling facilities, in Gastonia and Marion NC, were purchased from State Line Scrap in 2012. Today, MRS operates 3 recycling facilities, including automobile shredders in Gastonia and Monroe.We buy all types of ferrous, nonferrous, and e-scrap metals at each of our recycling locations, with a team of specialists who continually monitor market conditions to establish fair, competitive prices.
