As Mendocino County’s solid waste department, we work hard to make sure you are able to easily and responsibly manage all of your solid waste including recyclables, organics, and hazardous waste.
The Mendocino Solid Waste Management Authority (MendoRecycle) was formed in 1990 by the County of Mendocino and the three cities (Ukiah, Willits, and Fort Bragg) to provide administrative oversight and program implementation for solid waste and recycling in the County.
Besides having authority over Mendocino County’s solid waste,MendoRecycle works with local haulers to ensure trash, recycling, and composting services are being provided to the public according to State and Federal law while also being cost-effective and convenient. MendoRecycle also directly operates the household hazardous waste (HHW) facility in Ukiah.
MendoRecycle is administered by its General Manager, Robert Carlson and overseen by its Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets every 4-8 weeks to discuss matters facing MendoRecycle; these meetings are open to the public. Details about past and future meetings can be found here (insert link to Board meeting agendas page).
