MarBorg Industries is a family owned and operated business that has provided exceptional service and customer satisfaction in the greater Santa Barbara area for more than 70 years. Started in 1936 by Mario F. Borgatello, MarBorg Industries leads the way in residential and commercial garbage collection, recycling and waste management, and portable sanitation equipment. We also provide construction site offices; roll-off containers for high volume trash producers; storage containers for commercial and construction use; portable restrooms and shower trailers; temporary fencing; and a residential and commercial recycling program, including construction debris recycling.

MarBorg Industries is a local, family-owned business which has been serving Santa Barbara County for over 75 years. The business was started by Mario Borgatello Sr. and Charlie Borgatello in the late 1920’s. Recycling has been at the heart of MarBorg since the beginning when Mario and Charlie Borgatello would supply used metal, cotton, nylon, glass and other materials to meet the demand for low-cost goods created by the 1930’s depression and the 1940’s war mobilization. They would sort through the trash they collected to recover any item that could be reused. These resourceful practices became the foundation for today’s recycling efforts at MarBorg Industries.
Today, Mario Sr. has passed the operations of the business to his two sons, Mario Borgatello Jr. and David Borgatello, who serve as the Company’s President and Vice President, respectively. In addition, Mario Jr.’s two sons Anthony and Brian Borgatello manage the Liquid Waste and Recycling Divisions respectively, and Mario’s son-in-law Derek Carlson serves as the Company’s Business Manager. David’s daughter Kathy Koeper serves as Executive Assistant to the President and Vice-President. Although the business has grown since the 1920’s it still maintains a comfortable atmosphere and pride of service that are only found in a family business.

Residential Collection Services

MarBorg offers the options of curbside pick-up with free, easy-to-maneuver, wheeled carts for trash, green waste, and recycling, as well as backyard collection service. Curbside wheeled carts are available in 35, 65, and 95 gallon sizes. Backyard cans are available in the 32 gallon size. You may provide your own trash cans, or MarBorg cans will be provided for your use, free of charge. To change services or adjust your service volume, please contact us at 805-963-1852. With curbside pick-up, wheeled carts must be brought to the curb by 6:00 am on your collection day.Distance charge will be incurred for pickups made beyond one hundred (100) feet from the designated roadway. Containers must be removed from the roadway within twelve (12) hours after collection.

Commercial Collection Services

MarBorg offers commercial collection services and equipment with cans, carts, or bins. Cans are available in 32-gallons for backyard service. Carts are available in 35, 65, and 95-gallon sizes.  Bins are available in 1.5, 2, 3, and 4-cubic yards. Roll-offs and compactors are available for large-volume trash producers. We will customize your level of service, including your container sizes and number of weekly pickups, to uniquely suite your company’s needs. Service will be provided 1-6 days per week, on a schedule that works for your business..On your scheduled service day, please ensure that any enclosures are unlocked and that full access is available for our drivers. In some cases, this means that you will need to push your bin out to an accessible location.We also provide bar and lock mechanisms for our bins to prevent unauthorized use of your container. Please request this feature when you order your bin.All containers are color-coded based on the type of material allowed in the bin.  Beige containers are for trash, green containers are for greenwaste, and blue containers are for recycling.

MarBorg Construction Recycling Services:
MarBorg has supported the construction industry’s efforts to recycle for over twenty years. Our services include the collection and recycling of numerous types of waste materials from both residential and commercial/industrial establishments. MarBorg recycles cardboard, wood waste, green waste, metals, and inert materials (rock, asphalt, concrete, rubble, and dirt).
Clients can see a cost savings by choosing to practice on-site material separation themselves. If on-site separation does not fit within your space and time requirements, MarBorg will separate recyclable materials at its recycling facility.
LEED and CalGreen:
MarBorg has been very successful in diverting construction waste resulting in diversion rates up to 95%. If a construction project is pursuing LEED certification or required to implement CalGreen mandatory requirements, MarBorg works with the contractor closely to ensure the project reaches its maximum potential for diversion which can result in multiple in LEED points. The various LEED rating systems offer up to 3 points for construction waste management. MarBorg has the staff expertise to assist project teams in documenting LEED Construction Waste Management credits by working with Contractors in developing LEED/CalGreen compliant Construction Waste Management Plan and by providing a detailed quarterly diversion report showing all materials recycled and/or diverted from the landfill, where the material was recycled or diverted to, weights of each type of waste.

Roll-Off Services

MarBorg has been providing roll-off container service on the Central Coast since 1975. Roll-off container service is a necessity for the proper disposal and/or diversion of high volumes of waste and debris. We offer a large variety of container sizes to meet the specific collection needs of a diverse range of clients and take pride in the efficient service we provide our customers, including same day delivery and/or pick-up.

Clients can see a cost savings by choosing to practice on-site material separation. If on-site separation does not fit within your space and time requirements, MarBorg will separate recyclable materials at our recycling facility. MarBorg employees can go to the job site and develop a diversion program that best suits the needs of the contractor. Our primary goal is creating a successful diversion program that is easy to use. MarBorg will also provide job-site diversion reports as requested by the client.
