About Yard

 For those of you who don’t know who we are, we are a facility that focuses our environmental sustainability efforts through scrap metal recycling and have been doing so in Marshalltown, Iowa since 1904.  We provide answers to your white goods recycling needs, as well as a full line of structural steel and aluminum products for personal and commercial use.

History

M. Gervich & Sons, Inc. is a third generation scrap processing facility started in 1904 by Morris Gervich. Gervich & Sons is a direct mill shipper of both Ferrous and Non Ferrous scrap to consumers domestic and overseas. The company specializes in handling industrial, manufacturing, and demolition scrap and can provide a variety of containers and trucks to suit any particular hauling needs. With over 100 years of experience they can offer solutions to help streamline your scrap handling while offering maximum value.In 2005 Gervich & Sons Inc. made their most recent expansion by relocating the New Steel and Aluminum division to its own site just 2 blocks west of the scrap facility.

New Steel & Aluminum

In 1990, M. Gervich & Sons added a New Steel and Aluminum division to supply Marshalltown and surrounding areas with a steel service center that stocks carbon steel, stainless, galvanized, and aluminum at competitive prices with great service.   Our inventory of angles, beams, channels, HR & CR flats and rounds, sheets and plates, square and rectangular tube, pipe and round tube, and rebar; as well as galvanized, stainless and aluminum structurals, is ready to whether you need a delivery or want to pick it up yourself.  We cut to size for your convience as well.

Environmental

M. Gervich & Sons takes their commitment to the environment very seriously. On file with the Iowa DNR (Department of Natural Resources) is our Storm Water Permit (3833-3687) & Storm Water Pollution Prevention plan (SWPP). We utilize several large concrete and bermed containment pads for collecting any residual oils/coolants and to prevent the liquids from contacting the ground. All collected oils/coolants are then processed by an authorized recycler.We use ISCP (Inbound Source Control Program) to assist our customers both industrial and individual to identify those items that may pose a safety hazard.
