Loraas Recycle

Loraas Recycle is Saskatchewan’s leader in recycling. Formerly called “All Green Recycling,” this division was opened in 1995. Loraas Recycle offers services to residential, commercial and municipal customers in Saskatoon and surrounding areas, including providing curbside recycling pick-up to Saskatoon’s single family homes as of January 2013.We offer recycling pick up services to residential homes, business, municipalities, and schools.

Loraas has the largest Materials Recovery Facility in the province. This system uses an advanced single stream sorting process that safely sorts all mixed recycling materials, including glass. The other material is sorted into clean, marketable bales, uses less energy and captures more recyclable material than traditional sorting equipment.

We also collect, broker, process and market residential and commercial cardboard, newsprint, magazines, office paper, plastics, beverage containers, aluminum and tin. Full brokerage services are also available for all baled and loose recyclables. 

A Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is a specialized plant that processes the material collected from your blue cart. Here, recyclables are sorted, separated, packaged, and then sold to end-user manufacturers to be made into new products.

Loraas Recycle’s Single Stream MRF uses cutting edge technology to sort through recyclables from Saskatoon and the surrounding community. Through a process of mechanical separation and quality control stations, Loraas Recycle’s MRF allows for an extremely high rate of recovery—over 100 tonnes per day!
