About Yard

Land Shark Shredding was started by Don Gerard, Jr., who is a Bowling Green, KY native and two-time graduate of Western Kentucky University. Don is a U.S. military veteran who served active duty as a United States Air Force officer and C-130 pilot.Once he decided to leave the Air Force, Don entered the private sector working as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in both public practice and private industry. Additionally, Don has over 10 years of experience working as a commercial banker for some of the nation’s largest banks.

Combined, Don has 20+ years of experience working with confidential information for both the federal government (where he had a top-secret security clearance) and in the private sector, working with both small and large companies and individuals. Throughout this time, Don worried about how his employers were safe-guarding the security of his firms’ client data when it was time to purge their files. That’s when the idea to start Land Shark Shredding began to take shape.Land Shark Shredding is extremely customer focused. Our licensed and insured information destruction experts will work with you to find the perfect plan for your organization. Shredding Services

Even though you’ve worked hard to build your business and put policies and procedures in place to minimize risks, relying on your employees to handle document shredding makes you vulnerable to a huge potential liability. Failure to protect sensitive information and comply fully with rules and regulations regarding data destruction can have serious consequences to your business. From costly fines to irreparable damage to your reputation, a lack of compliance can truly ruin everything you’ve worked hard to build.

Even if you use a high quality paper shredder to destroy documents, you’re likely not doing enough to ensure complete information security. Your employees may have difficulty determining what needs to be shredded in the first place, and there may be serious slowdowns that leave data unprotected while waiting to be destroyed due to:

  • Paper jams and malfunctions that slow down work
  • User errors that compromise the quality of the shred project
  • Slowness and inefficiency of manual shredding
  • Lack of time for employees to devote to shredding

A Shredding Service Removes Your Risk

Every sheet of paper that goes into the trash can or recycling bin instead of the shredder or that isn’t completely destroyed by the shredder is a liability for your business. Outsourcing shredding to an experienced, professional company can ensure that all sensitive information is properly destroyed in compliance with laws and regulations by:

  • Providing onsite NAID AAA Certified Document Shredding
  • Assisting with employee training on HIPAA and other laws that affect your industry and on general identity theft prevention

One-Time Service

When unneeded papers languish in filing cabinets, storage boxes and elsewhere in your facilities, you become vulnerable to the possibility of a document security breach. If those documents were to fall into the wrong hands, your business could be fined and held financially liable for any consequences of identity theft.Fortunately, it’s easy to eliminate that risk; Land Shark Shredding’s one-time mobile shredding services is the answer.

Our one-time shredding services are ideal choices when you:

  • Plan to move to a new office location and don’t want to take a mountain of paperwork with you.
  • Reach the end of a mandatory file retention period for a large collection of documents.
  • Wish to use office space that is currently being used for records storage.
  • Convert to a paperless record-keeping system and no longer need your paper-based documents.
  • Simply want to reduce the risk of data theft by eliminating old paperwork that is no longer required.
