History

Cherif Ammar-Khodja, founder of KVS Computers, is a Berber native of Algeria in North Africa. He came to America, quenched his thirst for knowledge through higher education and pursued a career in the corporate IT world. After experiencing the pitfalls of corporate downsizing more than once and with a strong aversion of relocating his family to other parts of the country for job offers, Cherif decided to go into business for himself. With his extensive knowledge, skills and appreciation for his adoptive country, he wanted to give back to his local community by providing them with a reliable, affordable, trustworthy one stop shop for all their computer and IT needs. Taking his passion for technology combined with the love of his family and the desire to help others with the IT challenges they face, he created a computer repair and consulting business, KV Consulting. The company was named after his two daughters, Kenna and Valerie. However, in a short time after the start of KV Consulting, he and his wife, Lisa, gave birth to a third daughter. His pride and love for his three beautiful daughters, Kenna, Valerie and Sadia, is apparent in the fact that they are the namesake behind the company name which is now KVS Computers.

What Is R2 and Why Is It Important?

Anyone can claim to be a responsible recycler, but R2 Certified companies prove it with annual inspections conducted by independent third party certifying bodies. R2 Certified recyclers and refurbishers comply with the requirements of the R2 Standard which was developed by a multi-stakeholder group with representatives from the EPA, major manufacturers and recyclers to protect the environment, workers and data security. More and more businesses and government agencies are entrusting their decommissioned electronic equipment to R2 Certified companies because they recognize the value of protecting their brand and bottom line from data breeches and environmental liabilities stemming from improper disposal of their IT assets. Data Destruction

One of the biggest and most serious concerns individuals and companies face when disposing of retired electronics, is the sensitive data contained in their equipment. In compliance with our R2:2013 certification, KVS Computers offers secure and responsible data destruction services. Whether you are an individual with personal financial and/or private data or a large corporation with extremely sensitive and confidential information, we can safely and securely destroy your data. Depending on the customer's request, we either securely wipe hard drives using DoD (Department of Defense) level formatting or shred the hard drives to permanently destroy them. Whichever option is chosen, the customer can rest assured their data was destroyed and will receive a certificate of destruction for their records.
