Junk 4 Good is a not-for-profit social enterprise (an organization that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in human and/or environmental well-being) based out of Edmonton, Alberta. Our mission is to alleviate poverty through employment and offer a sustainable future for local non-profit programs. We are a multifaceted organization, providing non-profit services to Edmonton and the surrounding area. ALL of Junk 4 Good’s proceeds go to support local initiatives in our communities. As a social enterprise, Junk 4 Good is structured to focus on its staff and its social mission, rather than simple profit. Junk 4 Good invests 100% of its proceeds back into the local community through its local charity and non-profit partners. Story :

Junk 4 Good is one of many services offered through its parent organization Redemptive Developments. In 2011 Redemptive Developments was established when three front-line social workers began to identify additional issues that their formerly homeless clients were facing–even after obtaining stable housing. Atop the list of barriers facing the newly housed, the issue of meaningful daily activity and employment was isolated as one of the keys to maintaining physical and mental health.

Equipped with many years of experience in the for profit business sector, these three began to build a strategy to offer a viable option to fill this void. Their desire to change the way non-profit organizations raise funding , along with a motivation to empower people through employment, led to Redemptive Developments seeing rapid growth. Beginning with only a single service, operating with a single truck and two staff, Redemptive Developments now offers multiple services in many different fields of work with a fleet of vehicles and many full-time and part-time staff members throughout several unique businesses.

With a desire to become recognized as a household name while offering world class services, a re-brand of the home services division was made to become 4 Good Home Services, as well as the junk removal and bin rental service to become Junk 4 Good.
