Honolulu Recovery Systems (HRS) is a locally owned and operated full-service recycling company serving Oahu’s customers since 1990. We operate a certified HI-5 redemption center and are one of Hawaii’s original pioneers in the current “Sustainability” and “Go Green” movement. Our mission is to encourage and promote recycling programs on Oahu, to help extend the life of our landfill, conserve natural resources and reduce pollution around our beautiful island.
We recycle – Corrugated Cardboard – High and Low-Grade Paper – Newsprint – Aluminum – Plastic – Glass Containers. We utilize a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) system, which automates the commodity Sorting process, and is the only one of its kind on the island of Oahu.
Except for glass, all collected material is baled, loaded into shipping containers, then shipped off island to various mills for further processing.
Imagine, all of which has been diverted from the landfill and turning materials that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources.
