Our Commitment
Sustainability means taking a holistic approach to the social, environmental and economic aspects of business and being responsible stewards of valuable resources. It also means helping customers accomplish their own similar goals. Our commitment comes to life through a process of planning, defined actions, measuring progress and continuous improvement.
Value-Added Processing Services
High Steel Service Center offers value-added processing to provide customers the lowest total cost for all their carbon flat rolled, plate, bars & shapes, tubular, aluminum and stainless specialty requirements.
Stretcher Leveling (Cut-to-Length)
High Steel Service Center provides panel-flat material with our new Red Bud Industries® stretcher leveler. Customers can order custom widths and lengths to minimize scrap and in-house processing costs. A large selection of coil inventory includes hot rolled, hot rolled pickled and oiled, galvanized, galvannealed, cold rolled, structural quality, high strength-low alloy, pre-painted steel and aluminum.
Slitting
High Steel Service Center is committed to providing the closest tolerances and the highest speed efficiencies with our state-of-the-art slitter. Computer controlled "Digital Positioning System" enables setups in under ten minutes. Slitter induced stress is minimized, which improves product quality. The "Camber Trac" system assures that camber is not cut into the coil, which ensures parallel edges. The "Quad Tensioner" multiple strip tensioning unit is designed to provide winding tension (eliminating marking) and arbor deflection is eliminated resulting in a high-quality cut.
Precision Blanking
The company can provide precision blanks that meet exact specifications and tolerances with width and length tolerances as close as + or - .005". Customers' capital investment is reduced by eliminiating in-house re-square shearing and blanking operations. Advanced corrective leveling capabilities provide optimum flatness. Levels, slits and cuts are made to length all in one operation for quicker turnaround.
Shearing
High Steel Service Center has shearing capability - 26 gauge through 5/8" thick material. The automated handling equipment and CNC programmable shears provide operating efficiencies to help reduce customers' total costs while improving the level of quality for their finished parts
Sawing
High Steel Service Center can provide both stock lengths and custom cut lengths to reduce your scrap costs. We have the ability to "bundle cut" and hold close tolerances. Our focus on processing allows you to focus on what you do best.
As a component of the High companies' holistic approach to sustainability, the Green Initiative is a progressive, comprehensive, environmentally responsible approach to the activities used to design, produce and deliver the organization's products and services and also to help its customers achieve their sustainability objectives.
