We also offer custom cutting on shears, plasma cutters, bandsaws and waterjets. We offer both small and large quantities while still being able to ship many items the same day ordered. High Performance Alloys provides many "in house" services to aid our customers in getting exactly "what they need, when they need it". We can supply products with the most demanding requirements and we invite you to put us to the test. Being a distributor, service center and a producer helps us meet our customers' specific needs within a very short time. We promise to always give unbiased facts, information, and guidance.
Family Owned and Operated
Family owned and operated, we pride ourselves in delivering to our customers an unmatched level of service and depth of knowledge. Russ Kirchner, a Metallurgist and Corrosion Specialist, started this company in 1984 with the intent to sell requirements quickly and economically. Today, we have expanded our product line and abilities to include manufacturing as well. High Performance Alloys serves the special needs of the aerospace, chemical processing, oil-gas, medical, and food processing industries with fast and friendly service.
Metals Service Center
We will cut bars to multiple lengths (MULTS) or slice into thin pieces. A piece can be cut from a sheet or plate. We offer secondary processes such as rough machining and light fabricating. Our lead times for machining and grinding depend on how much material is being quoted. Special size or temper required? We have production capabilities in-house that produce bar to many tempers and sizes on an as needed basis.
Distributor
We can provide a bar by random length or a whole sheet at a time. Our machining center offers surface grinding and centerless grinding.
Secondary Producer
A GFM 412 Rotary Forge was installed in 1995. A rolling mill was installed in 2001 and in 2007 we installed a 750 ton forge press. We specialize in making the sizes and alloys that are not common, not produced yet or too small of a quantity that a larger mill will not produce! Let our friendly sales staff take care of your needs today!
Producer Of Special Metals
We help our customers by producing sizes or alloys in a short amount of time. We also help our customers and mills with developmental alloys. Many projects only require a small amount of material to evaluate for process/application suitability.
Experience
Our management and sales team have many years experience in specialty materials industry. Talk to us about your metallurgical needs. High Performance Alloys is qualified to help you in selecting the most cost effective material for a specific application.
Mill Quantities
High Performance Alloys represents several high quality material producers which enables the customer to receive lower cost and reliable delivery of mill production. We also offer custom stock for just-in-time deliveries.
Emergency Needs
Many customers keep us in mind for their emergency needs, small quantities, and producing that special item that is not to be found anywhere.
HPAlloys is a leader in the super alloy industry. Few other companies offer the level of service and depth of knowledge that High Performance Alloys has given to our customers. Currently we supply many fine OEM's, machine shops and resellers - and we would like to invite you to our family as well. Our past President, Russ Kirchner Jr. a Metallurgist and Corrosion Specialist started this company over 25 years ago. Founded with the intent to sell small requirements quickly and economically. HPAlloys serves the special needs of the aerospace, chemical processing, oil-gas, medical, and food processing industries with fast and friendly service. Many customers keep us in mind for their emergency needs, small quantities, and producing that special item that is not to be found anywhere. We are ISO 9001 and are evaluating certification to AS9100. Our new quality standard enhances the MIL-I-45208A system we had used as a guide over the years. HPAlloys added manufacturing capability in 1994 with a GFM rotary forge machine. In 2006 we added a 750 ton Open Die Lake Erie press for forging blanks, upsets, bars and shapes. In 2012 we added another GFM rotary forging machine. Today, more than half of our products are made to size through our own processing. This is our Tipton Forging plant.
We added more cutting capacity in 2010 and 2012 with waterjet cutting machines. Our premier unit is a Flow unit with a 2 meter by 4 meter bed (6.5' x 13'). It utilizes a limited 5 axis cutting head for excellent kerf and edge control. The smaller unit is a 4' x 10' with a standard cutting head. This is our Hoosier Waterjet plant. Capable of making one piece to many, and everything in between. Call us first, or call us last - you'll be glad you called! Let us solve your most demanding issues today.
Cutting Requirements
We offer a wide range of cutting options such as cutting and machining bevels, cutting multiples to part and, of course, we can cut in half for easy shipment. Whether it is bar, wire, sheet, plate, tube, or pipe; HPA will serve your needs.
Furnace Capabilities
Our 12 foot furnace is capable of a 2300°F temperature. With computer controlled programming capabilities, this furnace has temperature control of the annealing process.
Rapid Delivery
High Performance Alloys was formed to provide customers requiring quantities of special alloy with fast and dependable delivery. Fast delivery service is particularly important to operating plants in order to avoid costly downtime and lost production. We are organized to provide delivery service to anywhere in the world.
Standard Order Specifications
Our standard order specifications include packaging, material certifications and material identification. We have our own custom method of packaging for protecting your shipment. We provide free certifications on our materials as standard policy. We carefully label the product shipment, identifing purchase order, materials type, heat number, dimensions, weight, and (optionally) a part number.
Bar Production
Our rotary forge can produce materials starting with rough stock at about 3" diameter and reduce the material to around .5" diameter. The hot and cold working processes are especially good for special tempers and superalloys.
Machining
Machining is also available at our facility. We offer a wide assortment of processes for rough machining our materials down to a particular size and shape. We have dedicated machinists that do what it takes to help our customers attain the delivery they need.
