Hi-Tech Resource Recovery is a material recovery facility (MRF), permitted by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York City Department of Sanitation, that has been a receiver of all non-hazardous municipal solid waste since 1988. Conveniently located in Brooklyn, NY, Hi-Tech is only 1 mile away from (Exit 33) on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway (BQE⁄I278).
The facilities are permitted to receive 500 tons per day of municipal solid waste and are open (based on availability) to all private carting companies and⁄or Business Integrity Commission (BIC) approved businesses. Hi-Tech has two (2) entrances for vehicles to enter the facility and dump, hence eliminating unnecessary wait time.

All municipal solid waste is sorted for recyclable materials such as wood, metal, glass and cardboard. The recyclable materials are then processed into bales or wheel loaded into open containers and shipped out. Sorted garbage is then baled up and loaded onto flatbeds and vans or loaded loose into walking floor trailers or low boys with rail boxes. All baled and loose municipal waste is transported to incinerators and landfills within the Eastern United States.
