Herman Strauss is the name of the founder of the company. And Herman Strauss Inc. was the original Strauss entity. From modest beginnings, the firm operates three scrap yards that manage 160,000 tons of inventory. It boasts a fleet of tractor trailers and rolloff containers that exceed 200 units. In addition, it utilizes multiple cranes, loaders, shears and balers throughout the operations.

Herman Strauss has two large nonferrous warehouses where aluminum, brass, copper, stainless, titanium and other metals are customized for specific markets.

As West Virginia's oldest and largest metals recycler Strauss Industries has seen many changes throughout the years. Yet one thing has stayed the same: metal, scrap and other materials can be given new life and new value. This is what Strauss does.
