Gresham Sanitary Service was founded in 1948 by Carl Lehl and his son Harlen. Harlen continued operating the business until his death in 1999. Utilizing a fleet of late-model Volvo-White trucks, GPS telecommunications, and the latest in telephone, telecommunications, and computer-based equipment, Gresham Sanitary has never lost its original sense of purpose: to promptly and professionally meet the needs of its customers in an honest, fair, cost effective manner. Gresham Sanitary continues to make its services available 6-days a week, 52 weeks a year excepting Christmas and New Years Day. All drivers are CDL licensed, thriving in a work place committed to being drug free.

While originally serving only customers in the city of Gresham, Gresham Sanitary now has clients throughout East Multnomah County and is rapidly adding commercial, industrial, and multi-family customers in Portland and Multnomah County.Gresham Sanitary Service has always been actively involved in the community through the Chamber of Commerce and Rotary as well as a wide variety of committees and programs aimed at meeting the growth educational needs of the citizens and businesses and it is proud to serve.Gresham Sanitary Service has been happily serving Gresham and Portland, Oregon since 1948. What started out as a father and son sanitation service has since erupted into a blooming business covering not only the city of Gresham, but also reaching out across East Multnomah County and other parts of the Portland Metro area. With customer satisfaction in mind, we offer the best eco-friendly services for our customers that are professional and fast, as well as honest and cost effective. Residential Garbage Disposal Guidelines

Bag lightweight and dusty materials, including ashes, cat litter, saw dust, packing peanuts and animal waste before putting them in the can or cart. Doing so will prevent them from blowing away when collected.Do not put household chemicals (e.g., paints, pesticides, herbicides) or liquids in the garbage. Call Metro at 503.234.3000 for information on proper disposal.Do not overfill containers. All materials should fit in the roll cart with the lid closed and should fall freely from container when emptied.Use your roll carts first, and cans or bags up to 32-gallons may be used for extra garbage for an additional fee.Contact us to arrange for collection of appliances, bulky items, and for other special services.

Recycling Disposal Portland

Gresham Sanitary Services – residential recycling collection will provide you with one Curby recycling bin for glass only and a blue recycling cart for all other recycling materials.Place your garbage, recyclables and yard debris at curbside by 6:00 am on your collection day. When preparing your garbage, please follow the guidelines on our Container Guidelines and Garbage Disposal Guidelines pages.Please use your Curby bins for your glass recycling. They are a signal to us that you have recyclables to be picked up.We will not collect recyclables that are contaminated with other materials or garbage.The Curby bins belong to Gresham Sanitary Service, so please leave them at your house if you move.
