About Yard

The company FRITZ AQUILA, founded in 1900, is one of the oldest German trading companies in family ownership. Handed down directly from father to children for four generations, it has survived two world wars and several economic crises.

The Aquila family came to Munich from Italy via Nuremberg at the end of the 19th century and opened an iron and coal trade in the Sendling district. Fritz Aquila, the grandson of the founder and grandfather of the current owner, took over the business in mid-1935. In 1941 he was drafted and only returned late in 1949 from captivity. In a few years he had rebuilt the trade. Initially with an iron will and muscle power in the Implerstraße in Sendling and since 1976 with the most modern equipment at the company's current location, in the Dachauerstraße in Moosach.

Werner Aquila Jr., sole owner of the company since 1996, has continued the tradition. With his two children, he enjoys the trust of his long-standing customers. Experience, expertise and reliability have been the hallmarks of the family and the company for decades.
