Environmental Protective Services (EPS) is licensed and permitted (Permit # 1200) by the State of Oregon Department of Environmental Quality for a Fluorescent and high intensity discharge (H.I.D.) lamp recycling facility. EPS maintains up to $2,000,000.00 in liability insurance coverage, Policy #PLL0000159 with Seneca Insurance Company, Inc.
EPS of Oregon offers legal and safe ways of meeting your requirements for disposing of spent fluorescent, H.I.D. lamps. Our tagline, 'committed to a clean earth and to our customers' reflects our passon for sustainability and environmental responsibility while maintaining community relationships.In the lamp recycling process any fluorescent or HID lamp regardless of whether the lamp tests hazardous can be recycled by EPS. Recycling separates the toxic substances, such as mercury, from the glass, aluminum and other lamp components. All materials may be reused in manufacturing other products. Lamps are separated into primary materials from which they are made: Glass, Aluminum, Mercury. All materials may be used in manufacturing other products.
EPS operates as a universal waste "Destination Facility" for treatment of mercury-containing lamps. Daily loads of lamps are received and crushed in a specially designed, enclosed machine. This machine separates the toxic substances, such as mercury, from the glass, aluminum and other lamp components. Lamps are then separated into primary materials from which they are made: Glass, Aluminum, Mercury. All materials may be used in manufacturing other products.
