E.L. Harvey & Sons is a full service waste hauling, transfer, and scrap recycling operation. It has been an independent, family owned and operated business since it was founded in 1911 by Emory Larkin Harvey.
At the facility in Westborough, Massachusetts, the main office houses the customer service, sales, finance, and executive departments. All dispatch, scale, monitoring, and safety departments are housed in the scale house at the main entrance. The maintenance garage handles the service and repairs of our fleet.
E.L. Harvey operates a high-grade scrap paper processing and baling plant that also contains a plant-based shredding system. The waste transfer station contains a backup baler for handling all recyclable materials and wastes. The commercial MRF (Material Recovery Facility) sorts fiber rich loads, as well as removing and baling the fiber. The Construction and Demolition transfer and recycling operation consists of a trommel screen and short conveyor sorting line. The installation department designs and pre-fabricates installations to meet the varied demands of customers. Ancillary operations include mobile shredding services, liquid product destruction, municipal, commingled, recycle sorting, residential waste, and recycling services.
In addition to providing customers with a level of superior service, E.L. Harvey & Sons also takes an active role in our surrounding communities. We are a large contributor to numerous charitable organizations, such as Westborough Athletics Boosters Association (WABA), and Abby’s House, a home for abused women, and are actively involved in many community outreach programs through the Corridor Nine Chamber of Commerce. We strive not only to help protect the environment, but also the many people who share the environment with us.

Safety Policy Statement

E.L. Harvey & Sons believes a comprehensive safety program to be one of the primary factors in the continuing success of our company.
It is the stated formal policy of the corporation to strive to furnish its employees a workplace free from recognized hazards. E.L. Harvey & Sons will always endeavor to provide all of its employees a safe, clean place in which to work and the proper tools and equipment to do their jobs safely. In turn, employees must make every effort to avoid and prevent personal injury to themselves and their co-workers. This can best be accomplished by the careful following of all the company’s Safety Standards, the use of good common sense, the reporting of any perceived unsafe activities or conditions and the reporting of work-related injuries or illnesses to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
It is our goal to have each employee at E.L. Harvey & Sons finish each work day as healthy as he or she started it. Our current workers compensation Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is .71 on a scale where anything under 1.00 is exceptional.

Mobile On-Site Shredding

This option allows us to come directly to you. Give us the documents you’ve stored in boxes, cabinets, or other secure containers, and we’ll destroy them using our Vecoplan VST-32 Mobile Document Destruction System.
We use our RG32-XL Paper Shredder and allow you the opportunity to witness your documents’ destruction. Once we destroy your documents, we transport them to our facility in a secure truck and ship them to paper mills for recycling.
