eAsset Solutions, LLC is a small business located in Falls Church, Virginia. Since 2006, we have been recycling nearly all types of electronics, focusing on data security, reuse, and environmentally responsible recycling. eAsset Solutions' founder has a degree in environmental studies and spent over a decade working on IT projects for government contractors and commercial software development companies. Having experience working on defense, justice, and telecom IT projects plays an important role in identifying potential security risks in recycling and remarketing IT equipment.

This includes pickup services, data destruction (hard drive and data tape degaussing and shredding) and we have daily drop off hours. We ensure that data security issues are addressed and all the equipment is recycled properly. Materials received are recycled in accordance with Local, State, and Federal Laws. E-WASTE PICKUP SERVICES 
If you are a business, school or government agency located in the Washington DC Metro Area, we can pick up your items for a nominal fee. We do not have a maximum limit for the number of items a customer can recycle. We accept nearly all electronics of any age, working or non working.

DATA DESTRUCTION: HARD DRIVE DEGAUSSING and SHREDDING
Your equipment probably has data on it! We ensure that all hard drives, data tapes, cell phones, thumb drives, or anything that could contain personal data is destroyed. We do this as part of our normal recycling process. We can also provide additional services such as: hard drive degaussing and shredding, serial number capture/inventory, secure chain of custody, certificate of data destruction, and other custom solutions for your needs. We operate in a secure facility, with 24 hour video surveillance/alarm, and all eAsset Solutions' employees must pass criminal background investigations.

Our Process

DATA SECURITY
After we pickup or receive your equipment we first ensure all security issues with the equipment are addressed. All applicable equipment have asset tags removed and hard drives are erased or destroyed. Any other media containing data are destroyed. We offer many types of data destruction services including: data erasure, platter punch, degaussing, and shredding.

REUSE
Second, we reuse as much of the electronics as possible. Reusing electronics can save 5-20 times more energy than recycling alone. eAsset Solutions has developed a process to quickly identify and market parts that have practical reuse value. We sell electronics and parts for reuse in many online markets, such as eBay and Amazon. We also donate computers and other peripherals to non-profit organizations.

RECYCLE
Third, electronics that don't have any practical reuse value are taken apart and recycled. We do not export to developing countries and we have a zero landfill policy. Our process adheres to all state and federal regulations. We take apart equipment and separate the parts into various commodities such as plastics, steel, and aluminum for further processing and/or reuse.

During this "de-manufacturing" process: 

• Batteries are removed for recycling at approved battery recycling facilities
• Circuit boards are removed for additional processing at approved facilities
• CRT Monitors and TVs are sent fully intact to domestic leaded glass processors
• Used Ink and Toner cartridges are reused in remanufactured cartridges or recycled by approved vendors
• Metals and wire are sorted for commodity recycling

We only use approved downstream vendors to further process material. All items containing "Focus Materials" are sent to only domestic e-Stewards of R2 certified recyclers. All of our employees undergo a thorough background investigation and we have Workers Compensation, Commercial General Liability and Automotive Liability Insurance. eAsset Solutions is committed to providing service of the highest quality to our clients using industry best practices. Stores - We sell parts online!

In addition to receiving damaged or obsolete electronics for recycling, we also receive large volumes of reusable material. Reusing electronics saves 5-20 times more energy than recycling alone. After any personal data is destroyed, we sell used electronics and refurbished computers on our mclean-surplus eBay store. We have over 2000 items online and list new items daily, so remember to check back at our stores often!
