Conservit Inc. is the tri-state’s leader in ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal recycling, which includes; Hagerstown MD, Cumberland MD, Thurmont MD, Clear Spring MD, Boonsboro MD, Frederick MD, Martinsburg WV,  Shepherdstown WV, Charles Town WV, Greencastle PA, and Chambersburg, PA.

Our recycling center offers quality service for all of your household scrap metal and recycling needs. These include: aluminum beverage cans, pet food cans, lawnmowers, washers/dryers, copper, brass, etc. Conservit, Inc. supplies roll-off container service for commercial and industrial companies. Mobile crane services are available for assisting with scrap metal clean up along with mobile car crushing for salvage yards. We also work with demolition projects/sites. We offer un-paralleled service and competitive scrap metal recycling rates whether it’s for industrial companies or home owners.In addition to scrap metal recycling, Conservit, Inc. offers secure and witnessed destruction of electronic materials, classified materials, government computers and equipment.

OUR HISTORY

In 1974, the late Sidney Metzner and George Sellers III left executive level positions in the scrap metal industry to open their own business.On the site that was once a 40 acre cornfield, Conservit Inc. emerged. Sidney and George wanted to provide a decent place to work and a beneficial retirement for their employees. They saw to it that their fellow workers enjoyed uncommonly generous employee benefits and an Employee Stock Ownership Program.

Today, Conservit is a company that is 100% owned by its employees. The stock ownership that each Conservit employee enjoys comes from the company through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan. At this time Conservit employs over 50 employee/owners who have worked diligently throughout the years to demonstrate that “quality, service and integrity” are the keys to a successful business.
