C&I Electronics was founded in 1994 by Scott and Donna Dill. The company originally began as an electronics repair center for commercial and industrial electronics. Electronics recycling/ asset recovery began in 1996, a spin off of the repair business. Repair, refurbishment, resale of used equipment and electronics recycling have continued to be the focus of our business today. Our company employs over 20 full time workers. Business hours are Monday-Friday 9:00AM to 5:00PM.
C&I Electronics is an ISO 14001:2004 local/regional electronics recycler located in Evansville Indiana. (see map) We offer our recycling services to both business and residents. We are open to the public 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), 52 weeks a year Pickup/removal services are available for businesses.
We can also provide donation services and employees sales right from our local facility. Much of our refurbished products are sold to people in our local community, sometimes to small businesses or students, or to people who would rather buy a computer from a company who offers no rebates, no tricks, and no frills. We sell products that people can afford… products that people can use. We service the products we sell. To us reuse is and always has been the best option.
Material separation and recovery
RecycleBut let’s be realistic. A good percentage of the equipment we receive cannot and should not be returned to operation. C&I Electronics, through its partnerships with companies in the US and Canada, uses the latest technologies to recover the highest percentage of raw material possible….that is copper, aluminum, plastic, glass, tin/steel and the small amounts of precious metals present in yesterdays electronics. We follow “best industry practices”. We abide by the law….pure and simple. We use the same downstream vendors, only occasionally changing to keep up with the latest best methods out there.
C&I Electronics Company Inc. is committed to the recycling of used and end-of-life electronics including all other by-products\materials associated with this process such as plastics or paper. Our goal is to prove that we can recycle large quantities of electronics from our regional area; that a qualified electronics recycler can exist and thrive in a smaller market by reaching more of the market. Part of our policy is to get the message across to recycle. Because the result of not doing so would have the greatest negative environmental impact on our community. We will strive to recycle the maximum percentage of material, the best way it can be done, with the least impact on our environment, in the most cost effective manner. Furthermore, it is our duty to find the most innovative means by which to recycle the equipment we receive. The guiding principals with which we commit to this process are the prevention of pollution and the reduction of waste; while meeting or exceeding applicable legal and other requirements now and in the future. This environmental policy will be communicated to both our employees and to the public in a variety of ways. We are also committed to recycling all the materials we receive... not just materials that generate the most revenue. From this day forward we will implement projects to continually improve our operation so we can do the most good for our community and the world by having a positive impact on the environment.
Drive Erasure
Every drive that is brought to us is wiped using a Department of Defense Compliant erasure program free of charge. If a drive is non functional we will degauss it which is another acceptable method. We also provide, as a routine part of our service, tape degaussing, asset tag removal, label removal off of boxes that may contain your employee’s names and contact information, shredding of fax thermal rolls.
Physical Drive Destruction
We offer physical drive destruction for a small fee per drive. The service can be performed at your location or at the C&I Electronics warehouse. If needed we can scan the drives serial numbers in a spreadsheet and as always we will supply you with a “Letter of Recycling” stating that the drives were destroyed. We follow this up by sending the destroyed drives to our recycling partner who sends it through their shredding operation. This particular shredding operation is considered the most effective way to guarantee absolute data destruction. Please call us for a confidential consultation about this.
