Why is glass not accepted into the blue recycling carts? Click here for information: No Glass In Recycling. If glass is tossed into your blue cart, the blue cart will not be collected. More often than not, the glass breaks during the collection and shipping process. When the load of recycling material is taken to the Material Recovery Facility, if broken glass is in the load, this material can seriously injure a worker or spoil the quality of good recyclables.
