Cherry is a full service recycling and demolition company headquartered in Houston. A family-owned and operated business since 1952, Cherry can handle all types of recycling; industrial, commercial, residential and interior demolition projects; and asset recovery. In addition, we produce stabilized materials for a variety of applications.

Cherry—one of the largest recyclers in Texas and Gulf Coast—recycles more than two million tons of concrete and asphalt and thousands of tons of steel every year. We also recycle residential composition asphalt shingles and automobile and truck tires. Recycled concrete and asphalt materials are used primarily in road and highway projects while re-claimed steel ends up in thousands of new metal products. Once recycled, tires become a source for alternative fuels.

And, as a condition of employment, all personnel must follow every company safety and health requirement, as well as all local, state and federal rules and regulations.
Our employees give input
Cherry’s safety committee, which includes hourly employees, also solicits suggestions from all employees to further ensure that we are providing a safe and healthful work environment.
To help motivate employees and maintain higher safety awareness, we present monthly company-wide Safety Incentive Awards. Supervisors and fellow employees nominate their peers for exemplary safety performance. Further, we notify employees of the Safety Incentive Award winners and solicit nominations for future winners.

Cherry is one of the largest recyclers in Texas and the Gulf Coast. At our five Houston area recycling centers, we annually recycle

• More than two million tons of concrete for use in road base material
• About 30,000 tons of reclaimed asphalt paving for use in hot mix material
• Over 50,000 tons of steel to fabricate new steel products
• About 25,000 tons of composition asphalt shingles for use in hot mix material
• Nearly one-half million automobile and truck tires for alternative fuel
