Charron Metals Corp. was founded in 1983 by Steve Charron. He initially started the company by operating out of the family residence in East San Jose. Over the past 25 years, Charron Metals has grown to 25 employees and become one of the most respected scrap service companies in the Bay Area. Our Facility is now situated on a 3-acre industrial site located in San Jose with a fleet of various trucks and equipment to service our customer base. We specialize in Plant Production Scrap, demolition/construction, certified weight tags, and radio dispatched trucks.
Each year in California hundreds of thousands of computers, monitors, copiers, fax machines, printers, televisions, and other electronic items become “obsolete” in the eyes of consumers. Rapid advances in technology and an expanding demand for new features accelerate the generation of “old” electronic equipment (”e-waste”). The result is a growing challenge for businesses, residents, and local governments as they search for ways to reuse, recycle, or properly dispose of this equipment.
Charron Metals is not a collector of e-waste but we are a purchaser of the scrap bi-products generated from the e-waste recyclers once they have dismantled or shredded the electronic e-waste. Charron Metals purchases power supplies, fans, motors, tin chassis, aluminum frames, computer wire, yokes etc. We also purchase from those e-waste recyclers that have on-site shredding operations and the shredded metals generated from such an operation.
This generally includes the scrap metal from automobiles, steel beams, equipment, appliances, railroad rail, as well as food packaging and other containers. Scrap steel accounts for the largest volume in terms of the metal turned to scrap in the world.
Charron Metals supplies containers and or roll-off containers for the collection of ferrous (Iron, tin and Steel) and non-ferrous metals. Charron Metals only collects and receives form large and small industrial and commercial accounts such as sheet-metal, fabrication, manufacturing and demolition companies etc. Charron Metals can also supply roll-off containers for the removal of ferrous metals from jobsites such as building demolition and erection, HVAC removal, and more.
The resulting processed metal is used by steel mills and foundries for the manufacturing of new steel products. The following is a list of the types of ferrous metals we purchase;
