The founders of CRS have been involved in all aspects of Construction and Demolition ( C&D ) waste recycling and management for over 25 years. We are experts in C&D waste recycling, reduction, re-use and waste diversion.
CRS operates a state of the art C&D Recycle facility located on 7.5 acres near downtown Anchorage, Alaska which services the Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) and Joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson (JBER). The recycle facility is specially designed to be operational year round. The heart of the CRS facility, is a custom designed Erin Manufacturing recycling Plant complete with an eight station sort, specially designed material sorting screens, magnets and a SSI 600 Primax primary shredder for processing mixed construction and demolition debris. As a counterpart to the Erin Recycling Plant, CRS also operates a full service aggregate recycle plant. An Eagle impact crusher to processes waste concrete and asphalt into re-useable AK DOT and MOA spec compliant aggregate products. A Morbark wood tub grinder processes and sizes recycled wood, to produce mulch and other wood products.
CRS commitment for improving the environment , compel us to strive in finding useful and practical applications for recycled materials. In 2012 CRS completed the successful development of specifications with the Municipality of Anchorage and AK Department of Transportation to use Recycled Concrete Aggregate (RCA) as a structural fill material. Approval was also achieved for the use of Recycled Glass as Pipe Bedding and additive to Leveling Course. We are currently working on a pilot program to use tire bales as a lightweight fill product for road fills, parking lots and as retaining structures. Additionally shredded tires are being tested as fill in gabion baskets for retaining walls.
