Follow the signs on Industry Drive that will lead you to the truck scale. Pull up onto the scale (its 50 feet long) and you will be greeted by one of our scale attendants.
They will ask your name and look at your load to see how to grade your material. If you have iron or steel products (which is referred to as ‘ferrous’) you will be directed to drive to the very back of the building and pull into the first open bay door. An employee will direct you to pull up and the unloading process begins. It’s that easy!!!
After unloading, you will continue your journey through the building and back to the truck scale to get re-weighed. After being signaled that your weight is captured, pull off, park and come the cashier window to get paid. All ferrous materials are paid for by the ton (2,000 lbs.).
We have three basic grades of ferrous material:
If you have non-ferrous materials (copper, aluminum, brass, stainless), you may pull directly into our indoor non-ferrous purchasing area. It’s the first open bay door around the corner from the truck scale. An employee will help unload and then weigh your material on the smaller non-ferrous scale. Drive on through, take a left, exit the building, park and check in with the cashier. All non-ferrous materials are paid for by the pound and by check as required by law (ask an attendant for details or call).
For first time customers our employees will be happy to show you how to separate and grade your material for your next visit. We’ll even give you a magnet when you cash out. Remember… magnets will not stick to non-ferrous materials!
