BV Trash Valet & Recycling began its humble beginnings in 2009 with the intent to introduce trash valet services to the multifamily industry within the Bryan & College Station communities. Soon thereafter, it became apparent, that the residents living within apartment communities had no easy or convenient way to recycle.Started by Ricky & Jessica Hux, both class of 1990 A&M graduates, they realized the desires of their customers wanting to recycle in an easy and convenient manner, they began offering single stream recycling services to fill the market demands. After BV Trash Valet & Recycling entered the market, some neighborhoods quickly realized they could offer single stream recycling only services for their members. With rapid customer growth, the company began offering recycling services to commercial accounts as well. The Aggie owners then expanded their horizons and began offering trash services to residential customers outside of the city limits, while providing weekly single stream recycling services at no additional costs. Their growth across all of these segments has allowed the company to impact the community through providing employment to individuals and providing services that were not previously offered in the community. In 2015, the company announced they will be offering up to $2,000 of tuition scholarship(s) to graduating high school seniors within the community beginning in 2016. The owners just felt the need to give back to the members of the community who have supported the company and its efforts since 2009.
While other providers accept plastics #1-2, BV Trash Valet & Recycling accepts Plastics #1-7-making a considerably larger impact on our local environment. However, like our competition, we don’t accept Styrofoam products including “peanuts” or coat hangers as recycling materials.
