Black Bear Composting was founded in 2010 to play a role in organics recycling in Central Virginia. We were initially inspired by Poplar Manor Enterprises' food scrap collection program at Virginia Tech, and then other composting programs in Virginia and around the nation. Black Bear quickly joined the US Composting Council, retained the services of Coker Composting & Consulting and immersed ourselves in the world of composting. In the summer of 2011, we found our home on a beautiful 47 acre farm in Crimora, located in Augusta County in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley.
Black Bear Composting's commercial collection program is a great way for organizations to reduce waste, save resources, and lower expenses in the process. We work with grocery stores, restaurants, schools, and other businesses that generate food scraps and other organic wastes.
Black Bear Composting makes the process of separating organics out of the waste stream easy, so that you can have a successful organics recycling program.
