BELLO METAL RECYCLING is a family owned business located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1990 by Mario and Marilena Bello, and now owned and operated by Marco, Diletta, and Valentina Bello. The Bello family gained their experience in the Metal Recycling field in the 1970's and early 80's in Torino, Italy. They operated a similar briquetting business processing cast iron borings for FIAT and it's foundry Teksid. During the mid 80's and 90's the family immigrated to Virden, Manitoba, Canada and became farmers. Bello Metal Recycling began operations on a small 2 acre site, and installed 2 briquetting presses capable of processing 4000 tonnes of steel turnings a month. In 1997 a 3rd briquetting press was added to bring the facility to a 6000 tonne capacity. In 2001, we expanded operations by purchasing a Bailing Press, and 3 more acres. The bailer has a similar process to briquetting, taking loose raw material (stamping clips and thinner sheets) and compressing them into a small bundle, with a capacity of 1500 tonnes per month. To help round out our business model, Bello Metal started to process demolition scrap and plant generated mixed loads, by torching oversized pieces and segragating material by scrap grade.
