In Europe, the majority of used batteries, batteries and accumulators are considered green list waste, unlike Switzerland, which considers them all to be hazardous waste. BATREC participates in the recycling of metals contained in cells and batteries by giving them a second life in industry. In Switzerland, the battery collection system has been in operation for 35 years. The collection rate of used batteries from the general public is around 85% thanks to the INOBAT system (excluding lithium batteries). BATREC works closely with INOBAT to process all these batteries collected in Switzerland.
