Allen’s Scrap & Salvage Ltd. is Prince George’s only locally owned and operated scrap metal recycler.  It was established in 1964 by Joe Allen.  Joe and his family built and operated the business for over 30 years.  Joe and son, Alex Allen, sold the business to the current owner, Heinz Bartkowski in May 1997.  Heinz and his brother John took over duties as General Managers and Alex stayed with the company becoming the Operations Manager.  John retired from Allen’s Scrap & Salvage in 2009.

Allen’s Scrap & Salvage Ltd. is northern BC’s largest local metal recycler focusing on the north central region of the province.  Allen’s has continued to grow under the direction of Heinz and Alex.  There are now two locations, the original site located in Prince George and the other site located in Terrace (Link).  Allen’s operates a fleet of trucks, trailers, mobile shears and magnets and has over 500 bins of all sizes scattered about the north central region.  Our operation covers from Williams Lake, Prince Rupert, Valemount and Tumbler Ridge.

Allen’s Scrap & Salvage has expertise ranging from dismantling equipment, clean up of train derailments, to the demolition & reclamation of both industrial & mining sites.  Both the Prince George and Terrace facility collect, sort and process scrap metal to be recycled and sold to markets world wide.  Through the Prince George facility, Allen’s Scrap & Salvage is able to ship by rail, in overseas containers and by road.  We also carry a selective inventory of good used steel products and machinery for re-sale.

We offer commercial bins services as well as on-site demolition with our own equipment.

Trucks, Bins & Service Area

We operate a large fleet of Roll-Off Trucks with bins which carry up to 20 cubic yards in volume. Whether you're in the Prince George region or beyond, our trucks will accommodate your needs. We have a full range of Lugger, roll-off and tractor trailer trucks including three 80 yard demolition trailers and a self loader grapple and magnet. We also have pick-up trucks for smaller site services. We provide bin drop off and pick up.
Whether moving heavy machinery that can't be cut down for scrap or needing an on-site container drop off and pick up, we can handle it all. Regardless of what you need, our flexible dispatch team and drivers will try to work within your schedule to facilitate your plans and keep your business moving. We strive to maintain the best possible road safety standards while in transport with our drivers performing daily point inspections and ensuring that all safety precautions are met.

Demolition

We provide turn-key on-site demolition. Our crews are trained in our comprehensive safety program. We have a large selection of our own equipment readily available for even the biggest of projects.

Off-Site Material Handling

We can provide our equipment services right at your site. We can bring our equipment to your site for a one-time project or scheduled removal. Our large fleet of equipment also allows us to provide you with emergency services from clearing an access road to a remote rail line to cleaning up a construction site or accident scene.
